Flood mitigation in Osieko-Majimbo

The affected areas are adjacent to the Osieko shores.

Proposed solutions include:

1) Flyovers originating from around St Peters church Osieko and the other from the Osieko Nambo church on the hill. These should converge at the climb near Osieko secondary school.

2) The second flyover/bridge should feasibly start 1 km before the Dhogoye causeway and run towards the bakery (that covers the flood prone zone).

3) Structures on stilts.

4) Lastly, community members in liaison with county and national representatives should seriously think about having dykes along the lake shores.

In the long-term, these proposals will be beneficial for accessibility and for businesses.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a  suggestion, upon completion,  the pilot  project should then be extended  to  the whole region.
